Bridging the Gap Between Hospital and Home
At Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation - Greenwood, we take pride in our home-like atmosphere. At our park-like grounds in Greenwood, Indiana near Indianapolis, meals are served on China dishes with real linens. We offer four secured courtyards for our patients, residents and their families. Currently, we are in the process of refurbishing our
Rehabilitation Unit to offer 38 private suites for our "rehab-to-home" residents.
We have a full-time respiratory therapist who works with our patients and residents with breathing issues (including those using trachs). We also provide a pulmonologist, who rounds every week with our respiratory therapist to visit our patients and residents. We are improving our clinical capabilities and staffing in order to accept patients with greater medical complexity than a traditional nursing home. This is increasingly important as many higher acuity patients require transitional care before they are ready to return home.
Our nursing staff is specially trained in the use of wound vac's and work alongside our wound doctor, who rounds weekly to ensure everyone we serve is receiving the appropriate treatments needed for recovery. We also have a safe and secured Dementia Unit, offering patients and residents with memory disorders a specialized staff, trained in meeting the population’s unique needs.
For those patients and residents in need of transportation to and from doctor’s appointments, we are able to provide free rides in our wheelchair-equipped van. The American Health Care Association recognized our commitment to service and quality care by awarding our center with the Bronze –Commitment to Quality award.
